The Mortgage Market Review proposals will not be published before early autumn, Lord Turner, chairman of the Financial Services Authority, has revealed in the FSA's public meeting held in London today.
The proposals were due to be published next month but after recent strong criticism from various quarters, not least the Treasury Select Committee the regulator has seen fit to delay publication until a review has taken place. Lord Turner said that the delay was necessary as part of the FSA's move to develop a more intrusive regulatory regime, but suggested by some as being too little too late.
