Obtaining FSA authorisation for the first time can be a daunting experience, with ever tightening criteria the amount of information the FSA ask for seems endless. A number of supporting documents such as compliance monitoring program, manuals, training and competency plans all have to be in place before approval is granted.

The authorisation process

You may already have authorisation and require our help and support for other changes, we can also help with:

    1. FSA receive your application forms and non refundable application fee (the standard being £1500)
    2. A case officer will be allocated and the FSA will tell you who that is. They will review your application and may ask you to provide further information or clarification.
    3. The case officer will work with you to resolve any issues and we will keep you informed of progress throughout the application process.
    4. If your application is successful the FSA will write to you confirming your authorisation and enclosing your Scope of Permission Notice. This is your formal Part IV permission and will set out when the permission starts, which regulated activities you have permission to carry on and any requirements or limitations requested.
    5. If your application is not successful and the FSA are proposing to refuse your application, there is a procedure for you to challenge them.

 

How long will it take?

The FSA will make a decision within the earlier of: Six months of receiving your complete application; or 12 months of receiving an incomplete application.
